In this unit, I learned how to mix colors and paint a landscape. It was very challenging for me to create depth and detail with the paint. I think that my landscape is good, but not as detailed as it could be. Overall, I am proud of how it turned out.
My favorite medium in this unit was the clay. Although my tile broke in the final stages, I highly enjoyed my subject, so I placed extra effort into its completion. I loved that it was three dimensional and how I could feel the shape with my hands as opposed to creating a third dimension on paper. I felt as though my tile turned out wonderfully, and am very excited to paint it.
Although this piece is unfinished, I think my drawing of a corn cob is my most successful piece. I feel as though my use of shading was very effective in creating depth and dimension that made the drawing seem three dimensional. I did my best to put texture into the leaves, which was a little trickier than I had thought it would be. Nevertheless, I am proud of how this piece is progressing.
